ARTISTICAL EXPEDITIONARY WILLIAM HAWKINS s SquareTrade © AP6.Below are some paintings sold recently on eBay with their respective prices. DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a signed FRAMED oil painting that measures 18x14 inches and is painted on canvas on board. The frame measures 221/2 x181/2 The most accurate color pic on this is the one that shows the whole painting. I think it would look particularly nice in one of my black frames ...or a quarter-sawn oak frame in a mission or arts & crafts style and also an impressionist gold leafed frame. It is finished with a cleanable varnish for protection. It has some thick paint and very expressive brush work as all expressive impressionistic realism should. You can see some of my technique on the YouTube video links ...and possibly more info. about this painting on the blog link below. The frame pictured below is the one included in this auction in a 3 inch wide profile. I mill these right here in my little desert studio out of select grade wood with an antiqued black finish. These frames make a great compliment to my paintings. I built high-end gilded frames for many years for many artists and these are as unique and beautiful as they are striking...a real original. I give deals on multiple orders so be sure to inquire about pricing. See eBay store for more pics and ordering details. TITLE: Sansterflepth STYLE: I paint a lot...and often, almost every day. I make paintings from memory, photo references and from life...outdoor painting "en plein air" as they say. No matter what I paint I'm after the essence of the scene...the impression of the feeling / sense you get from the view of the land or figure or whatever. It is though, the relationship between shapes and color that most interest me. You'll not find a lot of highly rendered detail in my paintings. I do believe in good drawing and a disciplined approach to art though and don't recommend going at it willy nilly... no matter how abstract the work might be. I call my style Modern Impressionistic Expressionism and a touch of post modern embellishment with a slight neo-classical flourish and a hint representational realism thrown in for good measure. VALUE: Retail / gallery value on this painting would be $900 framed. (I don't like eBay fluff so I wouldn't say this if it weren't true. I've sold quite a number of big ol' paintings at retail prices in nice, swanky, high-end galleries over the years...(and still do under a secret nom de plum). You can see more available work in our eBay store & possibly more info. about this painting by going toWilliamHawkins.blogspot.com One of my recent works was purchased by the Grand Canyon Association to hang in their permanent collection. It will be on display in the famous Kolb Studio Museum on the south rim of the canyon along with some of the best paintings ever made of that historic and beautiful place! I use archival quality paints and substrates and finish all paintings with a quality varnish for protection and cleanability. I paint on standard size canvas panels so the frame you need to fit your painting will be easy to find. We walked in to view the paintings, spied one that looked like it was one of yours and were so pleased to see that we were right. It was great to see your work on display! congratulations!
