Offered here, probably from the 1950's, is a folio of Western prints by CHARLES M. RUSSELL. This folio contains nine prints with a variety of dimensions. Most of the sheets measure around 14"-15" x 10". The tallest one (pictured first) measures 14 1/2" x 12". They all have the words "REPRODUCED BY BROWN & BIGELOW FROM THE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS BY CHARLES M. RUSSELL" on the right side of the bottom border, and four of them have the words "SNOOK TRADING POST, BILLINGS, MONTANA" on the left; the other four have the words "DICK JONES PICTURE CO." on the left. The bottom of the folio cover has the words "VAUGHN and WURTH CO., HOLLYWOOD" at the bottom. The titles of the paintings, in the order in which they appear here, follow: THE SLICK EAR AT CLOSE QUARTERS SINGLE HANDED A SERIOUS PREDICAMENT THE CALL OF THE LAW WHEN TRACKS SPELL MEAT THE QUEEN'S WAR HOUNDS CAUGHT WITH THE GOODS SAGEBRUSH SPORT This set is in Very Good/Excellent condition. Most of the prints have light dents and dimples on the surfaces in varying degrees ranging from very light to moderate. They also have some wear on the corners ranging from small dings to light creases of over an inch. In general, this is a nice set of pictures with no serious blemishes. The pictures are clean and reflective. The cover of the folio has unfortunate marker notations, probably from a garage sale, on the upper left and lower left (see my photo). The cover is pretty sturdy and well-preserved otherwise. Shipping for this item to U.S. locations by Priority Mail is $5.00.
