The Seven A Ranch in Wimberley, Texas had an inventory reduction sale in their Pioneer Museum of Western Art, and here is one of the museum prints that I obtained at that sale. You are looking at a beautifully framed print by the famous western artist, C. M. Russell titled "The Scouting Party". This print was made sometimes in the 1950s from the original that was painted in 1898. The print measures 24" x 18" and 32" x 26" with the frame. Check the photo of this beautiful frame, this is a wood frame with a linen mat under non-glare museum quality glass. The date of 1898 appears beside C. M. Russell's signature. Russell lived with the Indians and painted them in their actual day to day lives in the late 1880s through the early 1900s. He is famous for his realism and detail to the Native American, and actually knew the subjects he painted. He married a Native American woman and was accepted by them as he lived with them in their native camps.
