This is western style artwork created around mid century. This Original is sold by the auctioneer located in Lexington, KY, zip code 40505. This is beautiful to get if you like Horse art.

Vintage 11x14 Nail & String Art Horse Head Picture on black velvet Retro Western. Very nicely detailed Eames Era midcentury String Art picture. Black velveteen fabric is stretched over a pressed wood board. Hundreds of small dome headed tacks or nails are driven into the wood. Then an intricate pattern of different colored threads or strings are woven between the nail heads to form the horse head. All the string is stretched tightly except a few pieces at the bottom edge of the large eye opening. The string is all there, and this is not noticeable except upon close inspection. There is a split in the velveteen on the left side of the picture (see photo 5) which has been securely glued down, and another split on the back of the picture, which doesn't really affect anthing. There is some lint buildup which could be removed with a lint brush if you wanted to (I have gotten the worst of it off already). 11" x 14" x 1/2". Great addition to a horse or Wild West western collection! We have been in the antique and gifts business since the early 1970's and love hunting for unusual and collectible items to offer you! We happily combine shipping - check out our other auctions! Thanks for looking and bidding! 561

A lovely portrait study of a Palomino Half Arabian. These horses dominate in the Western pleasure show ring, shown here in a western headstall and silver bit. This is an original oil painting done on a 5'' x 7'' hardwood canvas panel. This piece would make a fine gift or a wonderful addition to any equine art collection. Thanks for looking.
