Harman. Judging by the subject and the age of the canvas, which looks to be early 20th Century, this may very well be by the listed American artist Fred Harman (1902-1982), however, we cannot certify that. Loosely painted, by the artist concerning himself more with light than likeness, the piece is very atmospheric and placid. The stillness of winter is overwhelming! The absolute lack of anything to anchor one's attention, no clue of the location, just the barren snow fading into the darkening distance, attributes to the desolate cold of the scene. The painting is just the piece to remind one of the coziness of one's own home. The image measures 16" x 30", 20 1/2" x 34 1/2" in a beautiful, elegant frame, custom made specifically for the piece, as always free of charge to our clients. Condition report: The artwork is in good condition. It has some very small chips and stretcher marks, and has been professionally touched up. Nevertheless, it is 100% stable.
