This is western style art created around Unknown. This work is offered by the auctioneer located in Owensboro, zip code 42303. This is nice work if you want Old West art.

This auction is for a set of six Frederick Remington Western prints. They measure 8.5 inches by 11 inches. There is some discoloration on the borders of some of the prints, which I think might be from smoke damage as they came from my late aunt’s estate. Her house burned about 30 years ago. There is no odor, however, and they would all look fine if framed. As you can see, not all of the prints show discoloration. I don’t know what year these were produced, but I suspect it was the 1970s.

Frank McCarthy Signed & Numbered Lithograph THE PRAYER Image Size: 16.5" Tall X 20" Wode Orig Folder & C of A Hand Signed & Numbered Never Framed or Displayed Frank McCarthy The world of Western Art has lost a great talent and leader. Internationally known artist, Frank C. McCarthy passed away from lung cancer, Sunday, November 17, 2002 at his home of 30 years in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Frank McCarthy was born in New York City in 1924. He studied at the Art Students League in New York City during the summers starting at the age of 14. He was a graduate of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. Frank McCarthy began his art career as a commercial illustrator. He painted illustrations for most of the paperback book publishers, magazines, movie companies, and advertisements. He created works that became posters for such movies as the James Bond series. Frank McCarthy's talents were highly sought after by art directors enabling him to work as a free lance illustrator for many years. His art career spanned over 50 years, beginning with a request for a western cover for a magazine by an art director. He left the world of commercial art in 1968, and began his fine art career after moving to Sedona, Arizona. Frank McCarthy's dynamic paintings frequently featured the people of the west with a special emphasis on the Plains Indian, mountain men, and cavalry that made up the lore and lure of the old west. Appropriately entitled "The Dean of Western Action Painters", Frank McCarthy's art was unsurpassed for its motion, drama, and absolute attention to accuracy and detail. Highly collected, and frequently imitated, Frank McCarthy's works were treasured throughout the world as classic examples of contemporary Western Art. Retrospective showings of Frank McCarthy's paintings have been held at the Museum of the Southwest, Midland, Texas; the R.W. Norton Museum in Shreveport, La.; the Thomas Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Ok.; and in 1992, at the Cowboy Artist of America Museum in Kerrville, Texas. Frank McCarthy was invited to join the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America organizaton in 1975 and was an active member in the CAA group for 23 years. He was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1997. Five books of his paintings have been published-1 hardbound, 3 softbound, and 1 leather limited edition book. Over 100 limited edition art prints of his paintings have been published since 1974 by Greenwich Workshop, Shelton, Ct. Payment Methods Pay Pal or Credit Cards via Pay Pal.

ggoodwin Store SPECIAL Framed CHARLES RUSSELL Western Art Print Beautiful framed under glass print by renown American Western artist Charles Russell. This is an unusual print for the artist – most of his works were very brightly painted. This one is done almost in pastel colors, which lends it a thoughtful, ethereal quality. The subject matter is typical of “the Cowboy Artist”, an Indian atop a horse, gazing into the distance. It is a beautiful study of the vanished Old West. This print also has a story behind it. The owner informed me that the original was given to his late wife’s mother by C.M. Russell as a “thank-you.” According to the owner of the print, his wife’s mother and the famous artist were friends, and Russell wanted to give her one of his paintings as a gift. The owner’s wife inherited the painting, and the couple kept it for many years, until financial circumstances forced them to sell it. The new owner of the original had this print made, and sent it to the couple in remembrance of owning an original Charles Russell. The framed print measures 19”x15” and is double-matted in a light spring green top mat and a dark green mat around the print. 13” by 8 ¾” of the print is displayed under the mats. It is ready for hanging. There is a little damage to the rim of the wood frame – please see photo. The frame has a light gold striping through it, and little nicks and scratches as one would expect. The print will be double-boxed for safe mailing by Parcel Post. There is no charge for packing. Please check my seller’s feedback and bid with confidence. Please email me if you wish additional photos or have a question.
