An atmospheric sunset view of a Japanese harbor. This early 1900's western style watercolor is signed by the artist T. Seki. T. Seki was one of an accomplished group of Japanese Meiji period artists who were trained in the Western watercolor tradition. More of his work is pictured online with the Ohmi Gallery. This example was painted on thin board measuring approx. 13 x 19 1/2in. It is framed with simple silver and brown toned moulding. The watercolor is unglazed. The surface has light foxing and a couple of small surface scratches. A very pleasing atmospheric view! Guaranteed to be as described. Here I have a Ocean Harbor scene at the Western Canners Co. signed by William Gilpin. It is attached to a white matting board. The frame was not salvagable and the picture was the only thing left. There is a slight scuff in the middle just above the pully of the vessel. It measures 23 7/8 in. X 19 3/4. This picture would make a bice addition to your collection. Up for your consideration is this beautiful 1960's surrealistic western mountains seascape oil on board. It is signed "Wanda" on the lower left side. I have done no research on this talented artist or the painting. The frame is made of wood and finished in gilt gold and black paint. It is a painting of a springtime American western mountains scene perhaps the Rocky Mountains. There is a a river, a flowering tree and a small cabin in the forefront and ice capped mountains in the background. The frame is in very good condition with a few if any imperfections. The board is also in very good condition with no paint loss. The painting has great composition, is highly decorative and a great painting for the collector. The frame measures 22 1/2" x 29".
