This is western style artwork dating from 1900-1949. This work is sold by the Dealer or Reseller located in Crystal Lake, Illinois, zip code 60012. This is nice work if you like western art.

This is whimsical print from your Grandpa's era! It is a print from a scarce childrens book, circa late1940s. It depicts an Apache Native American Indian family herding their goats in a secret canyon. A child holds a baby goat kid, while the Apache mother milks a gost. Dad watches from high on the canyon wall. Little brother sits upon a grazing palamino pony. Very cute! This color print would look wonderful as a framed print in a child's room or nursery. It is on thick pebbled papers with wonderful color. The color is actually richer and deeper than my scan shows. It has text on the back, but the text is not visible through paper. The page has a slight creamy tone from age. This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE item over 55 years old. The page measures approx. 9.25x11 inches, and the actual image area is about 7.75x8.5inches (19.5x21.5 cm). This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE antique item. All prints are delivered in an archival sleeve and packed flat with heavy cardboard or rolled in a sturdy tube. I stand behind my products and offer a FULL REFUND if you think the product does not match the description in any way. See my store for other historic and antique prints at low buy it now prices! http://stores.ebay.com/JBs-Antique-Prints I will combine shipping on multiple purchases (charging only the single highest shipping cost). Lost parcels and items damaged during shipping are at your own risk unless you opt for insurance. Contact me for international rates. Powered by eBay Blackthorne 04.08.021

Edward Borein Original Western Native American Hunting Buffalo Etching Edward Borein (1872-1945) "Robes & Meat" - NO RESERVE - Currently, I am having my "Wild, Wild West" Fine Art Sale This sale features some western paintings thatwere done by listed and well documented artists. This sale is so wild because ALL of the artwork is being offeredwith .77 opening bids, no reserves and is 100% guaranteed, as described! click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Description This etching's provenance includes a major auction house and The J. Duff Collection (Southern California). This etching series is also cataloged in John Galvin's book, "The Etchings of Edward Borein (library #76-174-984), plate 178, and is titled "Robes and Meat". If you have ever been to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum or the The Carnegie Art Museum, you may have seen the work of Edward Borein. These are just 3 of at least 26 museums that own his work. Combined with being mentioned in at least 70 major reference books and having his work sold by some of the world's top auction houses/dealers, Borein is one of America's most famous western artists. This high quality original etching is titled "Robes and Meat" and depicts a determined Native American Indian on a horse hunting a powerful buffalo/bison herd. The buffalos provided "robes" for warmth and were also used for trading. While, the meat was often a staple for the tribe. All of this was wonderfully rendered in painstaking detail by Edward Borein. Another unsigned "Robes & Meat" etching from this edition sold for $2750 at auction, in 2004. If you care to see it, please go to: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/437792 If you are unfamiliar with Edward Borein, I would like to share his biography with you: BIOGRAPHY and REFERENCES: “I will leave only an accurate picture of the West, nothing else but that. If anything isn’t authentic or just right, I won’t put it in any of my work.” – Edward Borein "He was raised in San Leandro, a western cow town, in a family where his father was a county politician. Edward had many childhood memories of herded cattle and their cowboys, which he began sketching at the age of five. He was educated in the Oakland, California schools, and at the age of 17 began working on a ranch near Oakland and then drifted and sketched as a working cowboy throughout the Southwest, Mexico, and Guatemala. It was said that he practiced his art on anything he could find from bunkhouse walls to scraps of paper. At age 19, he enrolled at the San Francisco Art School, his only formal art training, and there he met Jimmy Swinnerton and Maynard Dixon who encouraged him in his art career. The first person to purchase his work was Charles Lummis, editor of The Land and Sunshine magazine in California, and the two became life-long friends. Borein and Lucille Maxwell were married in the Lummis home. Borein, a typical westerner in dress and manner, also became close friends with artist Charles Russell, actor Will Rogers, and President Theodore Roosevelt. Borein often traveled north to visit Russell in Great Falls, Montana, and to travel among Indian tribes. In 1899, Borein visited Arizona while returning from Mexico. By 1902, he was a successful illustrator in San Francisco for the San Francisco Call, and in 1907 he went to New York to learn etching techniques to enhance his illustration skills. There he enrolled in the Art Students League and was a student of Child Hassam. In the theatre district, he opened a studio that became a gathering place for 'lonesome' westerners such as Charles Russell, Will Rogers, Olaf Seltzer, and Oscar Borg. But Borein did not feel at home in New York, so he moved to Santa Barbara, California, in 1921. This was a final move. He and his wife built a Hopi-style home, and also turned increasingly from oil to watercolor painting. He taught at the Santa Barbara School of the Arts until his death in 1945. "On occasion Borein would decorate place cards for dinners with small watercolor sketches of cowboys, vaqueros, Indians and bucking horses" (Santa Fe Auction). From his studio, which again attracted many of his friends, he depicted Indians, cowboys, and California ranch life. Note: Edward Borein's birth date is often given as 1873. That date appears in many publications, however, I think now it is generally believed that the correct date is 1872. Harold Davidson uses the 1872 date, based on a birth notice in a California paper.” Sources: Edan Hughes, Artists in California, 1786-1940 Michael David Zellman, 300 Years of American Art Santa Fe Art Auction catalogue, 10/2001 The above biography was written by Sarah E. Boehme, The John S. Bugas Curator, Whitney Gallery of Western Art, Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Posted on AskArt.com." ITEM DESCRIPTION: This unsigned etching on paper measures 18.75" by 23.25", with its' frame. The actual etching measures 6" by 9.25". Please note that Borein did sign some of his Robe & Meat etchings, but not all of them. The etching is in good, overall condition. The 3.5" wide and 2" deep antique frame has chips on its' corners and scattered chips elsewhere. The frame is in about 95% of its' original condition. Please note that due to the value of this item and to minimize the risk of damage during shipping, this item will not be shipped with glass. When examining the etching under the ultraviolet light, I did find evidence of a previous restoration. Arguably, "Robes and Meat" is one of the finest etchings that Borein ever created. Good luck on becoming the winning bidder of this etching by Edward Borein. OTHER INFORMATION: I try to provide the best customer service possible. I encourage you to ask all questions before bidding and bid responsibly. The winning bidder will receive everything described in the item's description. Please do not expect anything that is not described in the auction. Due to the quality of the art, I do not risk damaging paintings by taking them off of their stretcher (or liner) and rolling them up, as these are not new paintings.
This is Expressionism themed artwork created around Unknown. This Original Print is sold by the Dealer or Reseller located in Greenport, New York, zip code 11944. This is beautiful work if you want Western art.

The print is framed and is hand signed in pencil. The image is reminiscent of the famous painting, after James Earle Fraser’s sculpture, End of the Trail. There is a small tear at the top which just ends into the artwork at the top. It isn’t terrible and could be repaired if desired by the new owner. Image size is about 8”by 10”. It is in good shape other than the aforementioned tear. See photos for condition and feel free to ask questions. I will be happy to combine shipping for multiple auctions. Check the shipping calculator for shipping options and, should you be the winner, be sure to read the invoice thoroughly for all shipping options. Ebay’s invoice will put my top shipping option in the shipping field as a default which is usually Priority Mail. In some cases Parcel Post will be cheaper (but take longer to deliver) so please be aware of your options. Shipping weights and package sizes are estimated, as I package the items after auction ends. The reason is that I may have multiple item winners and I will combine the items to save on postage. If excess postage is charged I will refund overage. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! Ebay requires that I pre-fill in the shipping weight and package size to list this item. I package my items after they are sold as I sometimes have multiple items to a winner. The weights I use are, somewhat, estimated. If there is an overpayment in shipping charges, rest assured that I will refund the difference. If there is a concern regarding the amount quoted in my invoice, please contact me and I will recalculate the packaged item and send you a revised invoice. I sometimes will forget to re-do the package size or weight from a previous listing for the shipping calculator so if you think the quote in this listing is too high please contact me to confirm that the info is correct. This has happened to me a couple of times and I am very grateful to have it brought to my attention. I pride myself in my feedback score and the very positive remarks I have in regards to swiftness in getting my items out and the care I take in securely packaging my items. Please contact me with any problems before leaving a less than perfect star rating in all categories. Even though it may seem that a four star rating is “good”, Ebay penalizes seller’s scores for less than perfect. Ebay will tell you, the buyer, that a rating of 4 stars (4.0 rating) is good but will suspend my selling rights if my average falls below 4.3. They are setting up sellers with unrealistic and unachievable minimums, thereby lowering seller’s rankings in searches and not qualifying for discounted seller’s fees. Even though you are told 4 is good, it is really bad for me so please consider your star grading seriously before you leave a feedback for me or any seller. If my customers have an issue, I beg that they contact me to resolve it. I am very eager to please. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I almost always send my invoices the morning after the auction ends. I try to get paid items out ASAP but can’t always as I have other responsibilities. If there will be a delay in shipping I will notify you. NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS (OUTSIDE USA) I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS LOST IN DELIVERY OR FOR ANY DELAYS DUE TO POST OFFICE AND CUSTOMS HANDLING. DUTY FEES MAY BE INCURRED SO PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS AND CHECK YOUR LOCAL CUSTOMS POLICIES BEFORE BIDDING. I MAIL MY PACKAGES PROMPTLY AND CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST ITEMS (SORRY). THIS RARELY HAPPENS (I am told) AND HASN’T HAPPENED TO ME YET (NOTE THE FEEDBACK). I CANNOT GIVE REFUNDS FOR LOST ITEMS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SHIPPING INFORMATION REGISTERED WITH EBAY AND PAY PAL IS CORRECT, THIS IS THE INFORMATION I USE TO SHIP. I WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENSURE YOUR ITEM GETS TO YOU. The Christmas Pageant of Peace commissioned Harvey to create a painting celebrating this national event. He has been the recipient of innumerable awards and the subject of three books. Through his art, our history lives. Harvey's art has intrigued and captivated a generation. his skilled use of light in dramatic settings, his considerable talent and persistent striving toward perfection have placed him and his work at the forefront of late twentieth century American art. G. Harvey grew up in the rugged hills north of San Antonio, Texas. His grandfather was a trail boss at 18 and helped create an American legend. So the American West is not only the artist’s passion but his birthright. Harvey's early interest in sketching and drawing slowly evolved into a passion for painting in oils. G. Harvey attended the University of North Texas and then transferred to University of Texas at Austin. G. Harvey soon realized that weekends and nights at the easel did not satisfy his love of painting. Harvey paints the spirit of America from its western hills and prairies to the commerce of its great cities. He abandoned the security of a full-time job in 1963 and threw his total energy into a fine art career. Two years as a "struggling artist" followed, but 1965 brought acclaim for the artists first prestigious show, The Grand National exhibition in New York, and the American Artists Professional League presented him with their New Masters Award. President Lyndon Johnson discovered his fellow Texans talent, became a Harvey collector and introduced John Connally to the artist’s work Connally was enthusiastic about Harvey's art and, on one occasion, he presented a G. Harvey original to each governor of Mexico's four northern states. Today, G. Harvey lives in Fredericksburg, Texas, with his wife Pat in a 150-year old stone home built by German settlers. His studio and residence are nestled within the Historic District of Fredericksburg Serigraphy utilizes the silk-screen printing process. For each desired color, a stencil is created indicating where the color will be applied. Then the stencil is adhered to a silk or nylon mesh screen, and paint of that color is forced through the screen on to the paper. This process creates a luxurious, vibrant and often-textured image. A serigraph requires a seperate silkscreen for each color of the image. Quality silk screen edition prints contain 50 to 100 seperate screens. During the printing process there is usually a day between applying colors to allow for drying time. A print with 75 color screens would take 75 days. The process is lengthy when quality is desired. Kelley Cowboys on Roaring Wagon Large Impressionist Western Oil Painting Signed & Framed - NO RESERVE!!! Currently, I am having my "Wild, Wild West" Fine Art Sale This sale features some western paintings thatwere done by listed and well documented artists. This sale is so wild because ALL of the artwork is being offeredwith .77 opening bids, no reserves and is 100% guaranteed, as described! click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Description This painting was originally purchased from the D. Craig Collection (San Mateo, California). This is the second of two paintings that I am offering by this very talented artist. After these two paintings sell, I will have no other paintings by this artist. If you have ever been around most cowboys, then you probably know that they are very hard working, intelligent and thoughtful people. What makes most of today's cowboys different than the cowboys of the old days is that many of today's cowboys have computers/access to technology, something that the cowboys of the past didn't have. This new technology does help when it comes to things like knowing the weather forecast, but a cowboy's grit and real-life skills aren't learned through the internet. Before the creation of the automobile, horse-drawn wagons were an important mode of transportation. In this painting, we see two cowboys on a fast moving three-horse drawn covered wagon. With a rifle in his hands, one of the cowboys is looking out for any hostile activity! Much like the first painting that I am offing by this artist, this is a very well done painting. The brushwork is strong, the palette is bright and the composition is strong. The painting is signed by an artist named "Kelley". I assume it was done by one of the listed artists named "Kelley". However, with more than 50 listed or documented artists named "Kelley", I am uncertain about which Kelley authored this painting. Based on the painting's quality, I feel confident that some of you will know which "Kelley" authored this painting. ITEM DESCRIPTION: This oil on canvas measures 26.25" by 38.25", with its' frame. The actual painting measures 24" by 36". The painting is signed by Kelley, on the lower right. The painting is in very good condition. The wood frame has some natural wood defects. Otherwise, it is in good condition. The framed painting is also large and is the reason for the higher shipping charge. I only charge the actual cost or less and never charge for handling, materials or fuel. When examining the painting under the ultraviolet light, I did not find evidence of inpainting. The signature is original to the painting and it did not flouresce under the ultraviolet light. I believe this painting's quality speaks for itself. Good luck on becoming the winning bidder of this large impressionist oil painting by Kelley. Thank you and I hope you have a "purrific" time viewing my auctions! See my other listings for more great items! Payment SELLER'S PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Payment is expected within 7 days of the auction's end. This item will not be shipped without insurance. Unfortunately, this leaves the buyer responsible for any customs' related fees.
